Woman Undone
A reimagining of Mary Coughlan’s early life, Woman Undone tells the story of a young woman who endured physical and sexual abuse, addiction and mental illness; and whose discovery of art and music was instrumental in helping her to overcome trauma.
Incorporating Brokentalkers’ distinctive blend of biography, socio-political discourse and breathtaking theatricality, Woman Undone is an inspiring, insightful, full-length music and theatre performance that explores the themes of abuse and redemption of Women.
Created in collaboration with Ireland’s greatest female vocalist, Mary Coughlan and renowned Icelandic composer and music producer Valgeir Sigurdsson, Woman Undone is performed by Mary, who is joined on stage by all-female cast of vocalists and musicians.
It was created on November 17th at the Project Arts Centre of Dublin.
