MARIE BRASSARD
THEATRE
An intense hallucinatory experience following an accident marks the starting point for the writing of The Ether. Haunted by the memory of loved ones who have suddenly passed away, Marie Brassard tackles this new work in which stories intertwine, told by the living, the dead and fictional characters.
Accompanied on stage by composer and musician Alexander MacSween, Marie continues to push further the sonic experimentation that she has pursued for over two decades. Together they blur the boundaries between musical and theatrical performance.
In an environment designed by scenographer Antonin Sorel, combined with images by filmmaker Karl Lemieux and lighting crafted by Mikko Hynninen, this narrative, both improbable and logical, unfolds, intimately connected to what we hold dearest within ourselves.
The show will premiere in Montreal at the FTA in June 2026.
Duration : 80 minutes – in French with English surtitles
