A piece that is animalistic, sensitive and brimming with energy, Tendre colère brings together ten outstanding dancers swept up in the same storm of emotions.
Tender Anger begins with a state of bewilderment in the face of the world. What do we do when meaning is lost? When the destruction of the living world and humanity’s sense of disorientation seem inevitable?
Faced with the chaos of the world and the loss of our bearings, Christian and François Ben Aïm explore those moments when we let go, when the body slips beyond our control: surrender, intoxication, trance, but also anger and outburst.
In a highly physical, organic and fluid choreographic language, bodies unfold, draw closer, confront one another and respond. Between tenderness and fury, fragility and power, the ten dancers reveal those moments when emotion overflows, energy circulates and the individual can be swept up in the momentum of the group.
Anger here is not destructive rage, but an energy that sets things in motion, bringing us together, encouraging us to help one another and to resist. The movement builds in intensity, carried by Patrick de Oliveira’s music, until it sweeps both dancers and audience along.
